about

De La Mar was born from a desire to expand my musical horizons. Specifically, explore the lands of Cumbia Villera, and the so-called Cumbia Rebajada.

It is inspired by great exponents of the genre such as Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, and also by the Mexican writer Jaime Sabines, who has a special appearance on the track. A recording of the writer narrating one of his most famous poems, Los Amorosos.

The lyrics in their poetic sense do not fully define whether they are directed towards a lover, or towards the sea itself. I wrote it this way, so that it could be interpreted either way by the listener.
